Kano Online Media Chapel Mourns Buhari, Hails Him As True Patriot, Icon of Integrity
The Kano Online Media Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) joins millions of Nigerians and the global community in mourning the death of the former President Muhammadu Buhari, whose passing in London on Sunday, 13 July 2025, marks the end of an era.
In a statement jointly signed on Monday by the Chairman and Secretary, Abdulkadir Abubakar Dangambo and Isiyaku Ahmed, respectively, the Chapel extends its condolences to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Federal Government of Nigeria, Katsina State Government, the family of the deceased former president, and indeed all Nigerians on this monumental loss.
According to the statement, the late President Buhari was a patriotic statesman who dedicated his entire life to the service of Nigeria.
“His leadership, both as a military ruler and later as a democratically elected president, reflected his deep commitment to national development, anti-corruption reforms, and the unity of the Nigerian state.
“We recognize his disciplined leadership style, his modest personal lifestyle, and his unwavering stand against corruption as legacies that will inspire generations of Nigerians.
“His humility, courage, and sense of duty set him apart as one of Africa’s most respected leaders.
“We pray that Almighty Allah grants the late President eternal rest in al-jannah Firdaus and grants the family, friends, relatives, well-wishers, and nation the strength to bear this painful loss, the statement added.
