Dr Boniface Aniebonam Okechukwu, the visionary founder and leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), established the party in the year 2002 with a firm belief that Nigeria deserves a platform that would one day produce a God fearing president capable of making Nigeria great once again.
For more than two decades, Dr Aniebonam served Nigeria with passion, sacrifice, and commitment to democratic ideals.
Although on the silent side , Dr Okechukwu remained deeply committed to his vision. With faith in the future, he accepted Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, entrusting him with the NNPP and supporting the movement financially.
Through this trust, Kwankwaso was able to contest the 2023 presidential election under the party’s platform , while candidates such as Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, now Governor of Kano State, and others also flew the party’s flag and excelled
However, to the shock of many loyal members, Kwankwaso betrayed the very man who gave him the political platform. He began to take unilateral decisions within the NNPP without the knowledge or consent of the founder of the party.
Most controversially, he even went ahead to change the party’s logo in a very corrupt and fraudulent manner, an action that symbolized deep disregard for the original vision of the party and rule of law, a betrayal of trust based on transactional tendencies , greed and inferiority complex
We, the Freedom Fighters, Kano State, call on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately comply with the judgment of competent courts of Abia State High Court and federal capital territory , which ruled in favor of Dr Boniface Aniebonam Okechukwu regarding the rightful ownership and leadership of the NNPP.
It is important to note that Dr Okechukwu Aniebonam an indegen of anambra state has always extended goodwill to Northerners as brothers and sisters. We regret to be part of this shameful action of our brother Senator Rabiu Musa KWANKWASO
Dr aniebonam has helped selflessly, sacrificed for the progress and wellbeing of the young northners and indeed liberated young freight forwarders of the northwest of Nigeria in the field of freight forwarding and logistics businesses, and placed his trust in Kwankwaso with a genuine heart.
Unfortunately, despite speaking to many parties in Nigeria before, Kwankwaso once again showed betrayal, even to the one who gave him everything at no cost, a typical of him on president Jonathan, President Ahmed Tinubu , Turaki Adamawa, Dr Ganduje and Gov Shakarau etc. This simply means that senator Rabiu musa KWANKWASO is a serial betrayer and deciet of the unsuspecting persons who may come his way
As Freedom Fighters of Kano State, we stand firmly against injustice and betrayal of trust. We will never support actions that undermine fairness, respect, and loyalty in our democracy. We therefore and finally warn and advise the chairman of INEC and the Commission to respect the judgement of the various courts immediately, noting that Nigeria is not a banana Republic where rule of law do not thrive
In the interim and pending the outcome of the mandamus application, it is very important to remind inec that the order of the abuja high court have restrained it from dealing and or recognising Dr Ahmed Ajuji led national working committee forthwith
