The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, has reportedly fled to avoid receiving a court summons from the State High Court.
According to reports, the court had issued a summons to the party chairman following a lawsuit filed by some members of the APC, challenging their alleged expulsion from the party by Abbas.
Barrister Badamasi Sulaiman Gandu, counsel to the aggrieved party members, disclosed to journalists that the court officials attempted to serve the summons to Abbas, but he allegedly fled the scene to evade the legal notice.
He stated that the affected members decided to seek redress in court after they were unlawfully expelled for speaking the truth about internal issues within the party, emphasizing that they remain loyal and responsible members of the APC.
Barrister Badamasi further noted that they would approach the court again to seek permission to serve the summons at the APC state secretariat, in line with the legal process.
He reaffirmed their confidence in the judiciary and expressed hope that justice would be done in the matter.
