Inter-Tribe Community Support Forum Applauds Reconstruction of Zungeru Road, Calls for Further Intervention
The Inter-Tribe Community Support Forum (ICSF), the leading socio-cultural group in Kano, commends His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, Executive Governor of Kano State, for the recent approval and award of the Zungeru Road reconstruction project. This long-awaited intervention comes as a major relief to residents, businesses, and commuters who have suffered the consequences of the road’s deplorable condition.
The dilapidated state of Zungeru Road has not only hindered commercial activity but also endangered lives, as its poor condition has created a haven for hoodlums especially at nights leading to several reported cases of attacks on unsuspecting commuters.
We are deeply grateful for this timely response by the government and see it as a positive step toward safer and more prosperous communities.
However, we also appeal to His Excellency to urgently consider the rehabilitation of Sarki Yaki Road, Burma Road, and Gold-Coast Road, three additional critical routes that have become almost impassable. Their deteriorating conditions have led many motorists to abandon them completely, further compounding the city's traffic, safety, and economic challenges.
We also use this opportunity to call on all members of the Inter-Tribe Community that is, all non-indigenous ethnic communities residing in Kano State to remain engaged, peaceful, and supportive of the state's development efforts. Our collective support for the government’s people-centered initiatives will only strengthen our voice and visibility as critical contributors to Kano’s growth and harmony.
Inter-tribe Community Support Forum remains committed to advocating for inclusive development and will continue to support the government’s efforts toward building a safer, united, and more accessible Kano for all.
Signed,
Amb. Nworisa Michael, Coordinator,
