Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) in Kano State has launched a training program for Heads of Departments (HODs) from six local government areas in the state.
The training is aimed at achieving Open Defecation Free (ODF) status in the local governments of Doguwa, Sumaila, Bebeji, Tudunwada, Tofa, and Bunkure.
The Director Planning and Mobilisation, RUWASA, Zahara'u Isyaku, welcomed participants to the training and emphasized the importance of achieving ODF status in the six local government areas.
She stated that the training would equip HODs with the necessary knowledge and skills to progress towards achieving ODF status in their respective local governments.
Isyaku noted that RUWASA had conducted visits to the six local government areas and observed progress and challenges in the implementation of ODF activities.
She emphasized that the training would address the challenges and provide HODs with the necessary awareness and skills to enlighten the populace in their communities.
The objective of the training is to achieve ODF status in the six local government areas, which would ultimately make Kano State free from open defecation.
The training would enable HODs to understand their roles and responsibilities in implementing ODF activities and to develop strategies for achieving ODF status in their local governments.
