PRESS STATEMENT
FREEDOM FIGHTERS KANO STATE
Why Senator Kwankwaso Must Reconcile with the Founder of NNPP
It is clear that Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso has no political party of his own except the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), which was founded over two decades ago by a true patriot, a lover of Northerners, and a promoter of young people in politics, Chief Dr. Boniface Aniebonam Okechukwu.
We, the Freedom Fighters, Kano State, therefore call on Senator Kwankwaso to seek reconciliation with the founder of the NNPP. We urge him to publicly apologize for the acts of betrayal committed against Chief Dr. Okechukwu, and we assure him that we will appeal to the founder to forgive him because we know Chief Dr. Okechukwu as a good man with no personal grievances, only disappointment over the betrayal of trust.
The NNPP was built on sacrifice, vision, and inclusiveness, not betrayal. No matter the circumstances, loyalty to the foundation of the party must be respected. Senator Kwankwaso must remember that without the trust and generosity of Chief Dr. Okechukwu, there would have been no NNPP platform for him to pursue his presidential ambition in 2023 and ABBA KABIR YUSUF as the recent Governor of Kano State.
We also call on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to uphold the rule of law as enshrined in its mandate. Sequel to the recent judgment of a competent court in Abia State, INEC must make a wider public clarification and state in clear terms that the ownership and leadership of the NNPP remain with Chief Dr. Boniface Aniebonam Okechukwu, the founder of the party.
As Freedom Fighters of Kano State, we stand firmly against injustice and betrayal. We will continue to defend truth, fairness, and respect for those who laid the foundation of our democracy.
Senator KWANKWASO and Gov ABBA KABIR YUSUF are hereby called upon to stop wasting kano state resources on avoidable litigations and concentrate on good governance in kano state, and as well the INEC leadership should learn to respect judgments of the court and abide by the principles of rule law and orderliness
