Kano State Government Donates ₦10 Million at Dr. Munzali Dantata’s Book Presentation in Abuja
The Kano State Government, under the able leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has pledged the sum of ₦10 million in support of the Dantata Foundation during the public presentation of two new books authored by Dr. Munzali Dantata. The event was held today at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who was represented by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, alongside the Commissioner for Investment and Commerce, Alhaji Shehu Wada Sagagi, conveyed the Governor’s goodwill message and announced the government’s donation in recognition of Dr. Dantata’s commitment to preserving and promoting the legacy of the late Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata.
Governor Yusuf highlighted the remarkable contributions of the late Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata to Kano State and the nation at large, particularly in the areas of social, economic, educational, and commercial development. He commended Dr. Munzali Dantata for his outstanding literary achievements and unwavering dedication to knowledge, entrepreneurship, and community development.
He noted that the books Behind the City Wall and Aminu Dantata: Life and Times of a Nigerian Entrepreneur; Commerce, Industry and the Making of Modern Nigeria reflect the deep-rooted values of industry, innovation, and resilience that have defined Kano over the decades.
Governor Yusuf further emphasized that knowledge, history, and creativity remain critical drivers of progress. Supporting initiatives such as this, he said, aligns with the vision of the Kano State Government to promote education, research, and intellectual engagement, especially among the youth.
“The Dantata family’s legacy of philanthropy and enterprise will continue to inspire future generations. The Kano State Government is proud to identify with efforts that preserve history and promote knowledge-driven development,” the Governor stated.
He reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to partnering with private organizations, scholars, and cultural institutions in advancing education and social progress in Kano State and beyond.
The event attracted distinguished personalities from Nigeria’s academic, business, and political communities, who paid glowing tributes to Dr. Munzali Dantata and the Dantata family for their enduring contributions to national development.
