The Kano State Government has reiterated its commitment to strengthening collaboration with Public Relations Officers of tertiary institutions to enhance the dissemination of government achievements across the state.
The Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, made this known while addressing journalists in his office, explaining that the meeting focused on two major agendas aimed at improving public communication.
According to him, the first agenda centered on building stronger synergy between the Ministry of Information and Public Relations units of tertiary institutions to ensure coordinated, accurate, and timely dissemination of government policies and programmes.
The second agenda focused on briefing the general public on the achievements of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in the tertiary education sector.
Comrade Waiya noted that under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, remarkable progress has been recorded across state-owned tertiary institutions. He highlighted key achievements including renovation and construction of new academic buildings, improvement of learning facilities, provision of instructional materials, implementation of staff training and development programmes, and renewed commitment to upholding academic standards.
He further emphasized that the present administration remains dedicated to revitalizing higher education by creating a conducive learning environment and addressing long-standing challenges affecting tertiary institutions in the state.
The Commissioner therefore urged Public Relations Officers to be proactive and professional in projecting the governor’s efforts, stressing that effective communication remains vital in ensuring that citizens are well informed about government interventions in the education sector.
He reassured that the administration will continue to prioritize educational development as a foundation for sustainable growth and development in Kano State.
