KNSG COMMENDS PRESIDENT TINUBU, APC GOVERNORS OVER N8BN DONATION TO SINGER MARKET FIRE VICTIMS
I, on behalf of the Kano State Government under the able leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, wish to express our profound appreciation to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for donating the sum of Five Billion Naira (N5 billion) as an intervention fund to support the traders affected by the recent fire outbreak at the popular Singer Market in Kano.
This timely and compassionate intervention has once again demonstrated the President’s commitment to the welfare of Nigerians, especially in moments of hardship and distress. The magnitude of loss recorded at the market deeply affected us all, and this generous donation will go a long way in cushioning the suffering of the victims and helping them to rebuilding their businesses.
We also wish to sincerely commend the Governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), under the aegis of the APC Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), for their collective donation of the sum of Three Billion Naira (N3 billion) to the victims of the inferno.
Their solidarity and sense of shared responsibility reflect the true spirit of cooperative governance and national unity.
The combined N8 billion intervention donation by the Federal Government and the APC Governors is a remarkable gesture of empathy and leadership. It sends a clear message that the people of Kano are not alone in their moment of grief and need.
As a government, we remain committed to working closely with all relevant stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability in the utilization of these funds, so that the affected traders can quickly resume to their trading activities.
I pray that Almighty Allah rewards President Tinubu and the APC Governors for their generosity and protect our state and nation from future occurrences of such unfortunate incidents.
Signed:
Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya
