DSS Arrests Suspected Kidnappers, Rescues Kibiya LG Administrative Secretary in Kano
The Kano State Government has announced a major security breakthrough following the successful rescue of the Administrative Secretary of Kibiya Local Government Council, Alhaji Hamza Durya, who was recently abducted in Durya village.
According to a statement issued by the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the victim was kidnapped at his residence, prompting an immediate response from security agencies across the state.
In a swift and well-coordinated operation, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), Kano State Command, rescued the victim unhurt and apprehended two suspected kidnappers. The suspects reportedly sustained bullet wounds during the operation.
The Kano State Government described the development as a significant success in its ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity, commending the DSS and other security agencies for their professionalism, dedication, and prompt response.
The statement further noted that the achievement reflects the effectiveness of the security strategies currently being implemented across all 44 Local Government Areas of the state.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf was also praised for his consistent support to security agencies, particularly in providing the necessary resources to enhance their operational efficiency.
While reassuring residents of its unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security, the government urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by reporting any suspicious activities within their communities.
