The Kano State Hisbah Board has announced its readiness to organize a mass wedding for about 2,000 widows and widowers across the state.
The Deputy Commander-General of the Board, Sheikh Mujahid Aminudeen, disclosed this during an interview with journalists on Thursday.
According to him, registration and medical screening for interested couples will commence soon, as part of the preparatory arrangements for the exercise.
He explained that the medical tests will cover HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, genotype, and drug use screening, noting that the measures aim to ensure the health and compatibility of couples before marriage.
Sheikh Aminudeen further stated that the primary objective of the screening is to safeguard the health of intending couples and prevent future marital and health-related challenges.
He reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to promoting moral values, family stability, and social welfare through initiatives that align with Islamic teachings.
