The Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has disowned a press statement circulating in his name, describing it as false and misleading.
In a disclaimer issued by the commissioner, he clarified that the statement did not originate from his office and was not issued on behalf of the Kano State Government.
Waiya explained that the act was a deliberate attempt by mischief makers to mislead the public and create unnecessary confusion.
He further disclosed that the matter has already been reported to security agencies, who have been tasked with investigating and identifying those responsible for the act.
The commissioner therefore urged members of the public to disregard the fake statement and always verify information from credible and official government sources.
