As Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s shift from NNPP to the APC was finally concluded, last Tuesday, analysts and stakeholders have identified Hon. Murtala Sule Garo Garo as a uniquely qualified candidate to stabilize and strengthen the administration, as his co-pilot.
The Governor is expected to announce a full "Transition Cabinet" that will accommodate members of the APC very soon, following resignation of some members of his cabinet who choose to move along with Senator Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso, leader of Kwankwasiyya movement.
As they tendered their resignations, their vacant positions have to be filled to ensure continuity of governance.
Now that full political alignment is unfolding, the deputy governor is expectedly given way soon, and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf will announce by the first week of February 2026 the "Transition Cabinet", for the State that will likely feature a 50/50 split between the Governor's side and the APC, his new political party.
Murtala Sule Garo is a strong contender for deputy governor alongside Abba Kabir Yusuf.
