BAUCHI — The Co-Convener of Nigeria Forward and Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria Forward platform to promoting unity, peace, collaboration and active citizen participation in building a stronger Nigeria.
Waiya stated this following a strategic stakeholder engagement held in Bauchi on Saturday, which brought together more than 100 representatives from organisations across the six states of the North-East.
The engagement, with 15 representatives from each state, provided a platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas, share perspectives and discuss the vision, objectives and goals of Nigeria Forward.
The meeting commenced with a welcome address by Hon. Mannir Muazu Haidara, Chairman of Kauran Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State and Director of Finance and Resource Mobilisation of Nigeria Forward. He welcomed participants and emphasised the importance of bringing stakeholders together to strengthen collaboration and understanding across the region.
In his address, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, who serves as Co-Convener of Nigeria Forward, briefed participants on the background, vision and objectives of the platform.
He emphasised the importance of unity, peace and the active participation of Nigerians in efforts aimed at building a stronger and more united country.
According to him, Nigeria Forward is founded on the principle of bringing people together, listening to one another, building understanding and creating opportunities for Nigerians to collectively discuss and contribute to the future of the country.
The engagement also featured an interactive session during which participants asked questions, sought clarifications and shared their views on issues affecting the region and the country at large.
Waiya described the discussions as frank, constructive and encouraging, noting that the level of interest demonstrated by participants reflected the importance of sustained engagement with stakeholders.
At the end of the meeting, representatives of the North-East Coalition expressed their willingness to collaborate with Nigeria Forward and pledged their commitment to supporting its objectives.
The Commissioner said the Bauchi engagement represented another important step in the efforts of Nigeria Forward to expand its network across the country and strengthen collaboration with organisations and stakeholders interested in contributing to Nigeria's development.
He added that the platform would continue to engage communities, organisations and stakeholders, while providing space for dialogue, understanding and collective contribution to the nation's future.
“This is what Nigeria Forward is all about: bringing people together, listening to one another, building understanding and creating a platform where Nigerians can collectively chart a way forward.”
He further expressed optimism that continued engagement and collaboration would strengthen the platform's network and encourage more Nigerians to contribute positively to the future of the country.
